Long Shadows Book and DVD
Date: 2/01/2007

"Long Shadows: Veterans Paths to Peace," edited by David Giffey and produced by Atwood Publishing is now available. The book, a collection of 19 interviews of members of the Madison Chapter covering military service from 1937-2006, is accompanied by a 30-minute DVD that includes 8 interviews. See the (left column) link on this page to Atwood Publishing for how to order.

The Long Shadows book and DVD is also available through many local book stores including:

Rainbow Book Cooperative, 426 W. Gilman, Madison
University Books Store in the Hilldale Mall
Borders Books (west location) , 3750 University Ave. Madison, WI


If you don't see the book, be sure to inquire. Some of the larger stores may be able to get the book or will refer buyers to Atwood Publishing.


Long Shadows Scheduled for Wisconsin Film Festival
Date: 4/15/2007

The 30-minute documentary entitled Long Shadows: Veterans' Paths to Peace, will be honored as part of the 4-day Wisconsin Film Festival, April 12-15. Producer of the film is well-known Madison videographer Luciano, owner of Brazen Video. Tickets are available (go to www.wifilmfest.org) for the presentation at the Wisconsin State Historical Society theater, located on the UW-Madison mall, at 2:30pm, April 15th. (See the story above for background on this important project of Madison Veterans for Peace.)


Veterans for Peace - April Meeting
Date: 4/18/2007

The regular April business meeting will be held at the Main Library in downtown Madison, 2nd floor, starting at 6pm. The meeting concludes by 8pm. Guests are always welcome and need not be members or veterans.



May Meeting
Date: 5/16/2007

The May business meeting will be held at the Main Library in downtown Madison, 2nd floor, starting at 5pm. This is a major planning meeting for the chapter and will be devoted to member discussion. Guests are welcome as observers at this particular meeting.

Veterans for Peace Veterans for Peace is a non-profit 501(c)(3) educational and humanitarian organization dedicated to the abolition of war. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. The Madison Chapter is the recipient of recent grant awards by the Evjue Foundation of Madison and RESIST of Somerville, MA to carry out its 2007 peace work.
